The S.A.F.E. Program
The Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (S.A.F.E.) program provides comprehensive care and assistance to female sexual assault survivors ages 13 and older. Specially trained examiners provide care to survivors and help to protect their dignity. In addition, S.A.F.E. offers physical and psychosocial assessment of victims, crisis intervention, evidence collection for local and State's Attorney's offices, expert witness testimony for court, referrals for support services, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, and pregnancy prevention options.
